Amelia’s 1st Birthday Party

We held a party in our home last Saturday for family and close friends. In total we had 17 adults and 4 kids including Amelia. The house was full, and it was lovely to be able to have the party in our house. Although,Sunday I was so tired I swore never again, that next year we would go to a “Soft Play Centre”,someone else can cook and clean, but I’d still decorate.

I bought Amelia some pink and white stripe curtains when she moved into her room, and loved the look of them,so decided to buy all things pink and white stripe for her birthday decorations.
See my post on DIY party decorations.I made some of the decorations, such as the pink and white pom poms, the paper doily cones, and added a 12 month picture Gallery on the wall behind the party table, some string,Woden clothes pegs and add your pictures.I bought the rest over the last few months on eBay and Etsy.

My husband and I, got up at 7 to start the food prep.We had loads of sandwiches, smoked salmon and brown bread, pasta salad (I will post a recipe for this soon),fruit, sausages, chicken nuggets,jelly,ice-cream,popcorn,sweeties,rice crispy buns, came pops and her birthday cake (made by Cupcakes by Dee).
Sounds like a lot,but it all disappeared pretty quickly.

Amelia had very little sleep throughout the day, which was expected.People started to arrive around her afternoon nap. She didn’t seem to mind, and was thrilled to have her cousins and friends in the house, playing in her playroom, while she was bum shuffling around after them all day.

We also had a great day, when most people left we sat down to a few glasses of wine and proccesco,to toast and celebrate our daughter turning ONE.
She got loads of beautiful cards and gifts, will post on them shortly.

Amelia wore a baby pink dress from Zara (still in stock),White Knit Cardigan (still in stock) from Dunnes Stores,White Tights from H&M,pink hair bow (was a gift).

And when the party was over, the next day it was time to sit back and watch nursery rhymes with her best friend. xxxx
